Brief Camp Description: This camp offers a full-day outdoor experience in a secure, supervised setting for girls grades 1 to 12. This year’s theme "Fantasy Ocean” experiences will be inspired by mermaids, sponges and all sorts of sea creatures. Plus the usual outdoor skills, and other challenges. All that plus traditional camp activities like crafts, outdoor cooking and tracking skills. Additionally, this year’s camp experience will include physical activities such as climbing the horizontal boulder wall and field games!
Unit Information: All units are age-based and will participate in camp-planned activities and events as well as enjoy free time to socialize and build friendships. All units are adult volunteer-led with young adult assistants.
Buddies: Campers may request one buddy of the same age level. Attempts will be made to honor the request only if both campers request one another, and all registration forms and fees are received in one envelope. No attempt will be made to honor requests that do not follow this procedure.
Registration Open Dates: Registration opens on March 1 and closes on May 31.
Cancellation Policy: 100% refund until April 15th and 50% refund until May 31st. NO refunds after May 31st. If a camper or somebody at a camper's home is diagnosed with COVID up to 14 days before camp, the camper will not be able to go to camp. The camper will be given a full refund upon doctors note.
Fee Notes: Full Week Adult volunteers will receive a camp fee credit of $20 per child for those registered and background checked by March 30. Half Week Adult volunteers will receive a camp fee credit of $10 per child for those registered and background checked by March 30. Those Full Week registered after March 30th will receive a refund of $10 per registered child after camp, $5 off per child for Half Week adult volunteers. All fees due with registration. Cookie/Nut Credits will be reimbursed after day camp registrar receives Cookie/Nut Credit. Most forms may be obtained online, but must be submitted by email or U.S. mail. No online registration.
Transportation(Still in planning): All campers must ride the bus, except children of our volunteer staff. Finalized information regarding buses will be sent out with camper confirmation letters. Bus stop locations from 2023 included :
So expect 2024 to be something similiar.
There will be assigned drop off and pick up times. Check in procedures will be explained in your Welcome Packet later this year. Please reach out to the camp if you have transportation questions.

Camp Sweatshirts:
You can order a Camp sweatshirt by using this downloadable form (XLS) or (PDF). Costs are $25 for hoody, $35 for zipper front hoody, you might need to check your download folder for the files. Provide it as part of your registration. If you've already registered, send it to Valerie Kemper (address above). Either print it out and postal mail it back, or e-mail it to her filled out. It is due May 31st.
Program Aide-In-Training (PAIT): Girls entering grade 7 in the fall who wish to work toward their PA pin. Girls will receive instruction meeting council guidelines for PA training, as well as opportunities for hands-on leadership experience. This is not a LiA Program.
Program Aide (PA): Girls entering grade 8 or higher, having completed council approved program aide training. This can and will serve as service hour units for the PA pin. Please complete the Day Camp Program Aide Application and one Program Aide Reference and submit them with registration.
Volunteer In-Service: All adult volunteers and program aides are required to attend our camp-wide in-service the Saturday before camp tentatively scheduled for July 6, 2024. But come back here for more details as it gets closer to camp season.
Training: There will be a required training session before camp on Saturday July 6th out at Mountaindale, with more details coming as we get closer to the date. On the day, all adult volunteers and program aids will be requested to attend.
Adult Volunteers: Rainbow Valley Day Camp is 100% volunteer operated. To make camp successful, unit volunteers are asked to attend the entire week. If that is not possible, we can use your help in other positions during the week of camp. Volunteer’s children will be given placement priority. We also offer a unit for volunteer’s Tag-a-Longs (see below). All volunteers must be registered Girl Scouts and background checked. All adults must complete the required online Council Trainings before camp begins. Adults having completed Volunteer Essentials, and Safety won't need to take further council training. These trainings take less than an hour to complete. New adult volunteers must take the Council's "Foundations" and Mandatory Reporter training. Combined these two take about 90 minutes to complete.
Tag-A-Longs: The children of volunteers, boys and girls 2-5 years old. MUST BE POTTY-TRAINED.
