Rainbow Valley Day camp will be in person unless restrictions prevent in person attendance. Following state and Girl Scout guidelines we've come up with a tentative plan to provide a safe and fun in person camp. Here is the current modifications:
- We will have units with 20 kids or less.
- There will be hand sanitizer in each unit.
- We will not have interactions between units.
- We will have flag in the meadow with distance between units.
- No campers will be indoors.
- The nurse will be outside on Marilyn’s porch.
- We will have a flag system or maybe walking talkies to answer questions.
- No meeting of PA or Adults in person only by zoom after camp each evening.
- The drop off will only be in North Plains. Starting with temp check before exiting cars. We will have one bus with one age group at a time. With cleaning between. Staggered start and end of day because of this. Arrival times start at 8am with last wave being around 910am. Departure times will be similarly staggered.
- We have a detailed plan on a safe cooking station.
- There will be no lunch or snacks provided. We always have had the girls bring lunch. BRING SIT-UPONS.
- There will be no overnight camp this year
- Masks are a must for all including everyone at the drop off site.
- We will be at 6ft when eating unless state guidance have changed. We will be following the rules we have been given.
- If there are shared surfaces they will be cleaned hourly or between groups.
- There will be a required training session before camp on Saturday July 10th online via Zoom, with more details coming as we get closer to the date.
- We have cancelled the Sunday tour. Setup will be performed Monday AM. Unit sites will be pre-assigned to accommodate size of the unit and COVID restrictions.
